What is Science?

Science is the way we ask questions about the world, find answers through careful observation, and test them to understand how things work.

Definition of Physics:-

Physics is the branch of science which deals with matter, energy, and their interactions.

It explains how and why things happen in the physical world.

For Example- Why does an apple fall? How do planets move?

Two Fundamental Principles of Physics:-

1) Unification

2) Reductionism

Unification:-

Unification means joining different laws or forces that seem unrelated into one single rule that explains them all together.

Example:-

Scientists found that electric force and weak nuclear force are actually the same at high energies.

Rare Fact:-

Scientists today are working on a “Theory of Everything” — a single law to explain all the four fundamental forces of nature.

Why It’s Important:-

  • Learning many separate rules, we learn one big rule that explains more.
  • Helps us understand the universe better

Reductionism:-

Reductionism is the idea that big, complex things can be fully understood by studying their smallest, simplest parts.

Examples:-

  • Understanding the brain scientifically
  • A computer is complex, but it’s built from simple logic gates and circuits.
  •  A room full of air (gas)

Rare Fact:-

Even emotions in humans can be reduced to signals between brain cells — that’s reductionism at work in biology + physics.

Why It’s Important:-

  • Helps us solve complex problems by studying basic building blocks.
  • Used in science, engineering, and medicine.
